FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions Who is the artist group Old Laundry ?The artist group Old Laundry is a group of 24 differently abled artists, who live in the St. Josefs-Stift in Eisingen, a public utility institution for people with learning disabilities and mental health problems in Bavaria. Creative form design is an important way for them to express their feelings. Their paintings have already been shown in several exhibitions. Who are our international partners? We search for differently abled artists all over the world. We are happy, if they support our project with artwork. We have already found cooperation partners in China, Korea, England, Japan and other countries… Where will the exhibition „olympic eARTh vision 2008“ be shown? The title of the exhibition is eARTh vision. The motives of the objects shown are "Blickpunkt: Heimat", which means in English the relationship of the artist to his country, his society and his spiritual home. We are also planning a catalogue. What is our ambition? We believe that we could provide a basis for the needs of differently abled artists in the world. We also want to promote the process of integration of these people. The public should realise the excellences of handicapped people than about their assumed disabilities. Their artwork is very special because of their very special perception of the world. This is their precious contribution to society. How can I – as differently abled artist – participate?Every person with a handicap can participate with an artwork. You can choose if you donate the painting to the project, or if you'll get it back after the exhibitions or if you want to sell it. If someone - at the end of the touring exhibition - buys the painting, 90% of the proceeds will be given to you. There is also planned to make a catalogue or calendar, which every artist will get as a reminder. How can I – as a professional artist – participate? It would be an honour for us, if we could borrow an artwork of yours, until the end of the touring exhibition. With this act of friendship you could show solidarity with people with a handicap. Please let us know your conditions. How can I – as VIP – participate? Please show your solidarity for the project by sending us a designed drawing or a message of greeting. You can use our creative paper for that. Your participation will give the exhibition more publicity. At the end of the touring exhibition we would like to sell your contribution by auction. The proceeds will be credit to the project. How can I – as sponsor – participate? Now the St. Josefs-Stift Eisingen gGmbH and the district of Lower Franconia are financing the exhibition. But we need further sponsors for buying frames, building up an entertaining exhibition, doing mailings, preparing and printing a catalogue and so on. As a compensation will we mention you on our web-site, in the catalogue, on our posters and in the exhibition. We will also inform the press about your engagement. Our bank transfer account is: St. Josefs-Stift Eisingen gGmbH – subject: Olympic eARTh vision – Liga Bank Würzburg – BLZ 750 903 00 – Kto. 300 44 22 – IBAN Which kind of motives will be shown? We would like to show four aspects of the subject „Heimat“: work & family - town, landscape & nature – culture – abstraction. In the following you can see some artwork for the Old Laundry. Which size of the artwork is suitable? We would like to show originals. In respect of the mail order costs (which we will pay) the frameless paintings shouldn't be larger than 50 x 70 cm (we will organise a frame here). If there is a possibility to bring along plastic art objects we will also be interested. The only thing is that the transport may be a problem. Which information do you need? For the exhibition we need a portrait of the artist (as photo or digital photo), a curriculum vitae, a message of greeting and (maybe) a comment on the painting/drawing/figure.
